The History

A Legacy of Precision Manufacturing

The property at 100 River Street was originally built and operated by the Fellows Gear Shaper Company, a manufacturer of precision gear-cutting machinery that was a cornerstone employer in Springfield for over a century.

The campus includes the main production facility (~255,000 SF on two stories with a three-story office wing), a cafeteria building (three stories with attached garage, connected by pedestrian catwalk), a boiler house, and the historic 1898 House.

Main Production Facility

Three-story former workforce cafeteria with attached garage. Connected to the main building by pedestrian catwalk. Planned for brewery operations with riverfront dining.

Boiler House

Standalone outbuilding suitable for auxiliary commercial or mechanical use.
